Buckatunna, Station
11 is located on Hi-way 45 South in Buckatunna, Mississippi and was the
first county department in Wayne County thanks to Mr. Emery Douglass, Beat
1 supervisor at the time and Mr. Clyde Dobson who was our State
representative at the time and Mr. Gary Synder who was our first Chief and
Fire Coordinator. Our first captain was Mr. David Lee Cambell and the
truck was housed in his Texaco station for several years until we got our
station built. Our next captain was Mr. Clifton Taylor who held the
position until his death at which time I (Marlin Sullivan) became captain
for several years, then came Terry Hutto and now our present |
captain Mr. Henry Beasley. We have made a lot of
progress over the years, we started out with a few good men and a used truck that
came from the City of Waynesboro and operated out of the Texaco station. We now
have a new three bay station, a brand new pumper, and a 3thousand gallon tanker.
